This listing is for a beautiful, rare American Girl / Pleasant Company doll. She is an American Girl Just Like You #4 doll from the 1990's. She is just darling, from her Asian Face Mold (she is the only doll to have this adorable face) to the tips of her toes! Little Miss #4 is marked "749/76" and "Pleasant Company" on the back of her neck.
True to her vintage roots, she has no side tag. Please note her body color which has a light peach tone. She is dressed in the second American Girl Just Like You outfit: The First Day Outfit. Her colorful fleece jacket boasts contrasting pockets and collar, and teensy black buttons. It's paired with ribbed black velour pants and a striped shirt. She does not have her original shoes, but instead a funky pair of blue and lime shoes which match her outfit!
Little Miss #4 also has a pair of American Girl panties, Mickey hair clips in orange and pink, and for fun, even a vintage card of doll sized "Grin Pins"! I want to note one thing about this doll, which is that her original wig has been wefted with approximately 100% more hair. Please see the photo above (#8) where my hand can barely circle her hair if it is pulled back, and even the side view of her hair (#6) that truly shows the fullness. Her hair also has some brown highlights mixed in with the black, although you can see from the photos that it mostly presents as very thick and black.
I did include a close up of her hair roots so you can see the brown highlights in her hair. She was a gift from my sister, who is a talented doll restorer, usually in the bisque/composition arena but she dabbles in American Girl too! I really only collect the historical dolls and this lovely, rare doll was given to me as a replacement for "Ivy" but I know she is even more special than that! She is in excellent vintage condition almost 30 years old! But please look closely at each photo as they are part of the description.
