RARE American Girl Just Like You #38 Hazel Eyes Strawberry Blonde Hair HTF

This is a RARE and Hard to Find American Girl Doll. She was released in 2009 as one of the dolls in the Just Like You line. She was retired 6 years later. There were a couple of reasons she was retired so soon.

First, American Girl was slowly removing all of the dolls with bangs. And the second was the release of the Historic Doll, Maryellen.

Maryellen was released the same year they pulled #38. Both dolls are similar, fair complexion, strawberry blonde hair, and hazel eyes. Though the eyes are very different. #38's hazel eyes are lighter and much more green.

Maryellen's are darker and the color is muddy. Maryellen's wig has the short thin bangs with a side sweep. It also is thicker and has more curl to it.

#38's hair is very straight. Of all the Just Like You dolls, I think 38 is the prettiest. Her hair and eye coloring really compliment each other. Maryellens eyes are so dark against the light hair that is doesn't work as well together. This doll comes in the 2008 Meet outfit, the Star Hoodie. It comes with light pink underwear, grey leggings, a pink tunic and a headband I have clipped around her wrist. Those headbands are not kind to wigs if worn on the doll for any length of time.
