She stated doll was rarely played with and was mostly stored in the trunk. Have had many of these dolls pass through my hands over the years, and I think this is one of the nicest I have seen. This is an early Pleasant Company American Girl Kirsten Doll.
She has a clean white cloth body with long flat neck strings. Her face paint is beautiful... Not faded at all, which is really common with the older dolls.
Her eyelashes are long with none missing and eyes open and shut as they should. Limbs are tightly strung and she can stand on her own. Hair is silky and soft.
Please note, these older Kirsten dolls have shorter hairs mixed in the with the long hair in the back (see photo). The hair has not been cut, this is how it was originally made. The original rubber bands disintegrated with age and the replacement pony tail holders are stretched out. The braids are loose and there are a few "flyaways", but no tangles or dryness.
Her vinyl portions are clean with no soil. Clothing pieces included are her Meet Dress dated 1986 with paper West Germany tag, white bloomers, apron, bonnet, socks & shoes. The dress is the only piece that is tagged. All clothing is in very nice condition with no stains or visible flaws. The fabric on the dress is nice and bright and looks like new.
Elastic in bloomers is not stretched out. Everything is clean and odor-free.
