American Girl doll Molly Pleasant Company custom
Meet Pleasant Company Squishy Molly! She has the wonderful qualities of vintage PC dolls that collectors seek. Her vinyl is the soft, squishy type, she has her original "chonky" cotton body and her full, round cheeks give her very cherubic look. She had been pre-loved so that when she came to me, her wig was beyond repair and her eyes had silvered.
The artist took the artistic liberty to repaint them to closely match a Molly blue color, but some low-lights and hi-lights have been added for depth. She has the long soft lashes that make the PC eyes so lovely! The neck-string-holding-pocket was coming apart, so the artist used some cotton cut on the bias to restore the torn, frayed part of her neck. You may notice in the close up of her collar bone that there are some hand stitches there to secure the new fabric from the reverse side. It isn't really noticeable, but you might want to know what is going on there.
Her torso was in relatively good condition, so the artist felt compelled to repair rather than replace it. Please note a few mystery marks on her torso that remained after a wash. Her wig comes from BBeauty Designs and has been securely fastened. If you are interested in her ballerina costume, it is from Our Generation because she's a little chonky, the tutu is a little snug and the hook and loop closures don't line up exactly vertical.
